As of August 22, 2025, Ukrainian farmers gathered 27.25 million tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops, and began to harvest sunflowers and soybeans.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Economy, Environment and Agriculture Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As of August 22, 2025, a total of 27,251.9 thousand tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops were harvested from 6,700.9 thousand hectares. Overall, 60% of crop fields sown with such crops were threshed,” the report states.
In particular, Ukrainian farmers gathered more than 21 million tonnes of wheat from 4.87 million hectares, 4.97 million tonnes of barley from 1.3 million hectares, and 581.7 thousand tonnes of peas from 258.6 thousand hectares.
Additionally, a total of 685.3 thousand tonnes of other new-harvest grain was collected from 260.6 thousand hectares.
In regional terms, the highest yield of grain and leguminous crops was gathered in the Odesa region (more than 3.44 million tonnes from 1.08 million hectares).
Among the leaders, there are also the Vinnytsia region (2.38 million tonnes from 423.7 thousand hectares) and the Kirovohrad region (2.2 million tonnes from 533.4 thousand hectares).
As for rapeseed, a total of 3,162.8 thousand tonnes was harvested from 1,283 thousand hectares.
Meanwhile, farmers from the Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions began to harvest sunflowers, and from the Kharkiv region – soybeans.
A reminder that, in the marketing year 2025/2026, Ukraine’s gross yield of grain and leguminous crops is expected to reach 73.4 million tonnes, which is 5% lower compared to last year.
