Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk discussed with Prime Minister of the French Republic Elisabeth Born the mechanisms for establishing an international special tribunal for Russia.

“To say ‘thank you’ to France and to urge them to stay with Ukraine in the future. These are two key messages that I voice during every meeting, including during a conversation with the Prime Minister of the French Republic, Elizabeth Born,” Stefanchuk said.

During the conversation with Born, he emphasized the importance of recognizing Russia as a terrorist state. The interlocutors also discussed defense support for Ukraine. “We are striving to restore Ukraine’s pre-1991 borders, so I see no reason to be reluctant to provide modern weapons. We need it to regain our territories,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized.

He also emphasized the need for a special tribunal for Russia. “We discussed in detail the specifics and mechanisms of its creation,” informed Stefanchuk.

At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine aspires to become a full member of the EU. “And today I heard that France supports this prospect, as well as supports Ukraine’s candidacy for membership in the European Union,” the parliamentary speaker summarized.
