Over the past 24 hours, 14,500 persons crossed into Ukraine, including 12,000 Ukrainian nationals.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the Telegram channel of the State Border Guard Service.

“Over the past 24 hours, 14,500 persons arrived in Ukraine. Almost 12,000 of them are Ukrainian nationals, most of whom are men intending to join our defense forces. We are proud of our fellow countrymen who are going to defend their Homeland,” the statement said.

Earlier, the State Border Guard Service reported that Ukrainian men continue to arrive from abroad to defend their country. In total, over the 12 days of war, some 167,000 Ukrainians returned from abroad across the western section of the border, of whom 80 percent were male citizens.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure, while their missiles have been hitting Ukrainian households.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization.
