With 67 days left behind in the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Kyiv administration claimed that one of Putin’s senior staff members was killed.

With the invasion of Ukraine by Russia on February 24, a new statement came from the Kyiv administration in the war that has been going on for more than 2 months.

Oleksiy Arerestovic, adviser to President of Ukraine Zelenskiy, announced that one of the senior figures of Russia, Major General Andrei Simonov, died in the city of Izyum in the northeast of the country.

No further statement was made regarding the death of 55-year-old Simonov, who was the head of the electronic warfare unit. Russia did not comment on the allegations of Simonov’s death.

If this death is confirmed, Simonov’s death would add to the deaths of senior military officials close to Putin since February. According to the data of Ukraine, 9 high-ranking soldiers have lost their lives together with Simonov so far.
