With Russia now pushing for full control of southern and eastern Ukraine, Western countries are ramping up their support, supplying billions of Euros worth of artillery, tanks and drones. Images of suffering, death and destruction are prompting Western politicians to deliver not only military but also moral support by visiting embattled Ukrainian leaders in Kyiv. In the face of strong pressure to do more, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz now pledges to supply heavier weaponry like anti aircraft tanks but says he won’t be visiting Kyiv anytime soon.
