Ukraine’s Armed Forces have forced the Russian navy to avoid approaching Ukraine’s coast.
According to Ukrinform, the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said this on Telegram, citing Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
“They have become cautious, but their naval grouping today, unfortunately, provides full control of the Sea of Azov, and this is clear, along with the Kerch Strait, and they are now blocking our ports on the Black Sea,” he said.
According to Skibitskyi, Russia’s goal is to inflict economic losses on Ukraine in order to prevent the functioning of Ukrainian ports as economic zones.
“[The Russians want] to prevent the movement of goods both on the territory of Ukraine and from the territory of our ports, and maintain their readiness to use large landing ships, other ships in the event of a sea landing operation. But I will say again – our actions have forced them to limit the activities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet at this stage,” he said.
