261 children killed in Ukraine since Russian invasion

A total of 261 children have been killed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said this on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“A total of 721 children in Ukraine have been affected by Russia’s full-scale armed aggression as of June 2, 2022. According to official figures from juvenile prosecutors, 261 children were killed and over 460 injured,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in Donetsk Region (184), Kyiv Region (116), Kharkiv Region (112), Chernihiv Region (68), Luhansk Region (52), Kherson Region (52), Mykolaiv Region (47), Zaporizhzhia Region (29), Sumy Region (17), the city of Kyiv (16) and Zhytomyr Region (15).

A total of 1,938 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine as a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, and 182 of them were destroyed completely.
