The so-called “referendum” set to be held in Kherson region by the invasion forces is important for Russia as an argument for future generations, therefore they are inclined to falsify the votes if it is deemed possible.

Serhiy Danilov, deputy chief of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, told about this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“For them, the referendum is important not only as a justification for the annexation, but also as an argument for future generations. I agree with those who claim that, if possible, they’ll manipulate the outcome,” says Danilov.

Now, the expert notes, it is obvious that the “referendum” was postponed due to the developments at the front lines as the invaders need greater stability on the right bank of the Dnipro River. That is, everything is determined by the situation unfolding on the battlefields.

As reported by Ukrinform, the “Yellow Ribbon” movement calls on the residents of the temporarily occupied territories not to participate in the so-called “surveys” by phone, conducted by the occupation forces as this may be one of the clandestine schemes for running a “referendum.”
