The police have the means to identify those who have been directly involved in tortures against Ukrainians.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Internal Affairs Minister Denys Monastyrskyi, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry.

According to Monastyrskyi, twenty-three torture chambers have been discovered in the Kharkiv region and one in the Donetsk region. Eight torture chambers were found in Kupiansk alone.

Extensive works are now underway to document the crimes committed by Russian invaders and establish the identity of those who used tortures against Ukrainian citizens.

Monastyrskyi mentioned that Russian occupiers had tortured victims with electricity, beating, various abuses, namely denailing.

“Today the police have over 25,000 hours of audio conversations of [Russian] occupiers, where they talk about their crimes,” Monastyrskyi noted.

He expressed confidence that the Ukrainian side would be able to find out who exactly did that.
