French AMX-10RC wheeled armored vehicles are already on their way to Ukraine.

“Fourteen AMX-10RC armored vehicles have left for Ukraine in line with the promise of the defense minister who previously wanted to provide this equipment to Ukraine within two months,” the Forces Operations writes citing its own sources.

It is noted that these 14 units of equipment are only the first batch and soon more vehicles will be sent to Ukraine.

As noted, Ukrainian defenders have been learning how to operate the vehicles at the Maine-et-Loire military base in France in recent weeks. “An interesting detail that can give rise to empty discussions: the Ukrainian military contingent sent to Maine-et-Loire did not consist only of experts in armored reconnaissance despite the fact that the French training program was based mainly on this type of task. This fuels the versions regarding the probable more ‘front-line’ use of the equipment by the Ukrainian troops,” writes Forces Operations.

As reported, in early January, President Emmanuel Macron announced France’s decision to provide Ukraine with AMX-10 RC armored fighting vehicles designed for reconnaissance purposes. Due to their characteristics, they are also known as “wheeled tank destroyers”.
