Exhibition of photos, “Maidan 2014 in Washington, D.C.” is arranged by Nadiya Shaporynska, the president of US Ukrainian Activists (USUA)

Dear Supporters of Ukraine, an exhibit of photos “Maidan 2014 in Washington, D.C.” by Nadiya Shaporynska, the president of US Ukrainian Activists (USUA) will be on display from 9a.m. to 2:30p.m. (and some evenings, open to the public) for two weeks from Friday, Feb. 10 to Monday, Feb. 27, 2023.

This series of photographs shows the Ukrainian community here in Washington, D.C. during a turbulent and historic period – the first months of 2014, following Ukraine’s Maidan Revolution of Dignity, russia’s illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula, and the beginning of russia’s hybrid war against Donbas, Eastern Ukraine.

Come to see a unique glimpse into the life and history of a Diaspora community as they rise to the occasion, and serve as a bridge between two different worlds: Ukraine and the United States.

Nadiya Shaporynska is the president and founder of the US-based and volunteer run charity non-profit US Ukrainian Activists (USUA). In addition to providing critical medical and humanitarian supplies to Ukraine, USUA also organizes grassroots advocacy events in the D.C. area in support of Ukraine.
