U.S. allocates USD 425M security assistance package for Ukraine – White House

President Joe Biden announced a new USD 425 million security assistance package for Ukraine, which includes air defense capability, ammunition, armored vehicles, and other weapons.

This was stated in an official White House release following the conversation between Presidents Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Today, the President announced a $425 million security assistance package for Ukraine that includes additional air defense capability, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles, and critical munitions to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs,” the statement reads.

The statement specified that over the coming months, the U.S. will provide Ukraine with hundreds of air defense interceptors, dozens of tactical air defense systems, additional artillery systems, significant quantities of ammunition, hundreds of armored personnel carriers (APCs) and infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs). Additionally, the U.S. will send thousands of extra armored vehicles to help equip the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the White House emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, on Wednesday, the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine held a phone conversation to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine, including the implementation of Ukraine’s Victory Plan. In this context, Washington stated that both leaders instructed their teams to hold further consultations on next steps.
