Ukraine downs 22 Russian drones since Wednesday night

Ukraine’s Defense Forces have shot down 22 kamikaze drones Russia launched since last night.

That’s according to the Air Force Command, Ukrinform reports.

From 19:30 on October 16 to 05:00 on October 17, the Russians attacked Ukraine with an Kh-59 guided air missile from the airspace over Kursk region, as well as 56 attack UAVs and unmanned aerial vehicles of an unknown type (launch areas: Kursk, Orel, and Primorsk-Akhtarsk) .

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare crews, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces were involved in repelling the attack.

As a result, 22 enemy drones were shot down in Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Odesa, and Ternopil regions.

Two drones left Ukrainian airspace in the direction of Belarus, 27 attack UAVs and unmanned drones of an unknown type disappeared from radars due to active e-warfare countermeasures.

At the same time, five strikes were confirmed on infrastructure facilities in the frontline regions.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, since the evening of October 16, Ukraine has been under attack by Russian attack UAVs.
