In Kyiv, the autumn of 2024 ranked third among the warmest ones since 1881.
That’s according to the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, Ukrinform reports.
The observatory’s weather station showed that the average air temperature throughout the season in Kyiv has been +11.4°C, which is 2.7°C higher than the average long-term numbers.
This year’s autumn ranked third among the warmest since 1881 in the capital and repeated the temperature value of last year’s autumn. Eleven temperature records were set, all observed in September.
All autumn months were warmer than usual, especially September, which had the largest positive deviation of plus 5.7°C.
The coldest days of the calendar autumn of 2024 in Kyiv were November 25 and 27, when the minimum morning temperature dropped to -5.8 degrees Celsius, and the warmest was September 1, when the maximum temperature in the afternoon reached +33.0°C.
In September-November, 135 mm of precipitation was recorded in Kyiv, which is 90% of the climate norm.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on November 5, a decrease in air temperature to -2.1°C was recorded in Kyiv, which marked the end of the frost-free period, which lasted 198 days.
