NBU allocates over UAH 57.3M for defense needs in November

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, nearly UAH 37.9 billion has been transferred from the special account opened by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) for defense needs. In November 2024, over UAH 57.3 million was allocated.

According to Ukrinform, the National Bank of Ukraine reported this.

“On December 1, 2024, the balance on the special account, which the National Bank opened to support the defense forces on February 24, 2022, amounted to over UAH 1.7 billion. Over the past month, nearly UAH 230 million was deposited into the special account,” the statement reads.

It is noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over UAH 39.4 billion in equivalent has been deposited into the special account. More than UAH 18.8 billion in equivalent has been received from abroad in foreign currency.

Funds have been transferred by both Ukrainian citizens and businesses, as well as the international community, including from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, France, Canada, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, and other countries.

As Ukrinform reported, in November 2024, domestic government bonds became the largest source of state budget funding for the first time this year.
