In 2025, Ukraine plans to hold art seasons in France. The two countries will also continue collaborating on the restoration of Ukraine’s cultural heritage, which has been damaged by Russian aggression.
This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications, Mykola Tochytskyi, in Paris during a meeting with EU culture ministers and a representative of the European Commission, as reported by Ukrinform.
“We are grateful to France for its support and for being ready to provide a platform so that the voice of Ukrainian culture resonates powerfully on the European map,” Tochitskyi emphasized.
The Ukrainian art seasons will be called Temps Fort (Pinnacle Moment).
The minister expressed his gratitude for the invitation to the ceremony marking the reopening of Notre-Dame after its restoration. According to him, Ukraine was one of the first to extend a helping hand to rebuild the cathedral after the fire in 2019.
“The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine immediately offered to send Ukrainian restorers to assist their French colleagues. Now, we find ourselves in a situation where Ukraine needs help with the restoration of cultural heritage sites destroyed by Russian military aggression,” Tochytskyi said.
In her welcoming speech, Acting Minister of Culture of France, Rachida Dati, emphasized that Ukraine’s cultural heritage needs saving and support.
“All European countries, together with us, are very happy that the Minister of Culture of Ukraine joined colleagues from the European Union countries for the ceremonial reopening of Notre-Dame, which symbolizes the revival of heritage,” Dati stated.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi, and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, Hanna Wróblewska, agreed to expand cooperation in the field of culture.
