The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that on the night of January 14, the Defense Forces carried out a large-scale strike on military targets 200 to 1,100 kilometers deep into the territory of Russia.
The General Staff reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
Targets in the Bryansk, Saratov, Tula regions and the Republic of Tatarstan were hit.
Another successful attack was launched on the Kristall oil storage facility in Engels, Saratov region, where a fire that lasted five days after the previous attack has been just extinguished. The repeated strike was conducted by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR).
The Bryansk Chemical Plant in the town of Seltso, a strategic facility of the Russian military- industrial complex, was also hit. The plant produces ammunition for cannon artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, aircraft, engineering ammunition and components for Kh-59 cruise missiles. Secondary detonation was observed on the territory of the plant, which lasted several hours. In addition, the attack destroyed two anti-aircraft missile systems – Tor and Buk.
Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, Missile Forces, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the HUR and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) were involved in this combat mission.
In addition, units of the HUR and SBU struck strategic facilities of Russia’ military-industrial complex – the Saratov Oil Refinery and the Kazanorgsintez plant. A fire broke out at both facilities.
Targeted and systematic operations to destroy facilities that supply ammunition, military equipment and fuel to the Russian army will continue until Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine is completely stopped, the General Staff assured.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army’s total combat losses in Ukraine from February 2022 to January 14, 2025 amounted to about 811,090 troops, including another 1,330 invaders killed or wounded over the past day.
