The crews of the Austrian evacuation bus, named after the fallen combat medic Natalia Yatsun (Frauscher), have already transported 10,000 wounded soldiers.

This was reported by the commander of the Medical Volunteer Battalion “Hospitallers” Yana Zinkevych on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“The crews of our “Austrian” have transported their ten thousandth patient,” the post reads.

It is noted that “Austrian” is equipped with everything necessary for high-quality transportation and stabilization of soldiers with injuries of varying severity.

The evacuation bus operates thanks to charitable contributions.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Natalia Yatsun (Frauscher), a medic with the Hospitallers battalion (call sign “Austrian”), worked as a doctor before the war broke out in 2014. Later she saved the wounded in Donetsk region. Two years before the full-scale invasion of Russia, she moved to Austria, got married, and worked as a dentist in a private clinic with her Austrian husband. She also did volunteer work, collecting and sending humanitarian and medical supplies to Ukraine.

In April 2022, Natalia joined the Hospitallers medical battalion. On June 26, 2022, she was killed in an accident: an evacuation bus on a dark road collided with a military truck that was parked on the road without lighting. The battalion bought and equipped a new bus, which was named in her honor.
