In Mariupol schools, the Russians are intensifying propaganda efforts among students, glorifying Kremlin proxies and the invasion force.
The Mariupol City Council in exile reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.
“In School 34, portraits of ‘DPR’ militant Volodymyr Zhoga are now showcased. The educational facility now also bears his name. Children were seen dressed in Soviet-era uniforms, forced to recite poems about ‘heroes who never die’. Also, at School 4, children were told about the ‘liberator’ of Mariupol, Russian Major General Vladimir Frolov, who had been killed in March 2022. Now the invaders are glorifying the murderer of local civilians,” the statement says.
It is noted that the invaders have intensified their efforts to Russify local children. In schools, propaganda is being intensified to glorify Russian invaders who practically razed the city.
During a so-called month of military and patriotic education, school boards are instructed to glorify Russian proxies and occupation forces.
The City Council in exile also noted that the invaders are systematically trying to alter the history of the Russian invasion and justify the Russian military, who purposefully destroyed Mariupol, bombed peaceful neighborhoods, and killed tens of thousands of civilians.
As reported, in November 2024, a “hero’s desk” dedicated to the pro-Russian militant and terrorist Volodymyr Zhoga was opened at a Mariupol school.
