The Russian forces persist in their assaults to establish a foothold on the right bank of Kherson region, but Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to eliminate the enemy.

This was stated by Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson’s Regional Military Administration, in an interview with Ukrinform.

“The enemy is not giving up on its goal to capture more of Kherson region. From intercepted communications, we know their aim is, at a minimum, to advance toward Mykolaiv. Daily assaults occur, though small in scale, with two to six boats at a time, they persist. A representative from Russia’s higher command recently visited to reprimand them for failing to seize a foothold,” Prokudin noted.

According to Prokudin, many Russian soldiers are now refusing to fight, aware that they are being sent to their deaths, but the assaults continue.

He also confirmed that the Ukrainian troops are still present on the left bank.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, in the fall of 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the right-bank part of Kherson region, including the city of Kherson. The left-bank part of the region remains temporarily occupied by the Russian forces.
