The Netherlands will participate in the training of 26 Ukrainian technicians to maintain F-16 fighter jets.
That’s according to the Dutch Defense Ministry, Ukrinform reports.
The Dutch Defense Ministry announced it is contributing to the training of 26 Ukrainians as so-called crew chiefs for the F-16. These technicians are responsible for the fighter jets before takeoff and after returning to base. The training will take place at an airbase and will last until the end of April, Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced during a visit of his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov to The Hague.
The ministry added that crew chiefs are responsible for final checks.
It is noted that The Netherlands has offered to contribute to the training of F-16 ground personnel. The Defense Ministry is not directly involved in the training.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and his Dutch counterpart Ruben Brekelmans met in The Hague to discuss the coordination of plans for the receipt of aid allocated to Ukraine. They also discussed the effective use of this aid on the battlefield and support for operations.
