Ukraine downs 59 Russian drones overnight Friday

On the night of January 31, Ukraine’s Defense Forces shot down 59 enemy UAVs while another 37 enemy drones failed to reach their targets.

This was reported on Telegram by the press service of the Air Force Command, Ukrinform saw.

 “On the night of January 31, 2025 (from 21:00 on January 30), the enemy launched 102 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and decoy drones of various types from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Cape Chauda in Crimea. As of 09:00, it was confirmed that 59 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones had been shot down over Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions,” the report says.

As noted, 37 decoy drones disappeared from radar, causing no damage on the ground.

The press service says the air raid was jointly repelled by air defense units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.

The latest attack affected the regions of Sumy, Odesa, and Cherkasy.

As Ukrinform reported, Russia’s casualty toll since the full-scale invasion has been estimated at 837,610, including 1,670 killed or wounded in action in the past day alone.

Also, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have destroyed 9,893 (+3) Russian tanks, 20,631 (+17) armored fighting vehicles, 22,445 (+33) artillery systems, 1,265 (+1) multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 1,050 air defense systems, 369 warplanes, 331 helicopters, 23,573 (+63) operational and tactical-level UAVs, 3,054 cruise missiles, 28 warships/cutters, a submarine, 35,552 (+101) vehicles and fuel tankers, and 3,726 (+1) units of specialized equipment.
