Ukraine and Moldova will continue to implement a project to develop and improve transport links between the two countries.
This was discussed during the second meeting of the mixed Ukrainian-Moldovan commission with the participation of representatives of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova, Ukrinform reports citing the press service of the State Agency for Reconstruction.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the project to develop and improve transport links between the two countries. The Ukrainian side underscored the importance of the project for both countries and the urgency of its implementation, emphasizing the necessity of a unified effort by both parties to ensure its success.
Nicolai Mindra, State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova, emphasized his full support for the project and highlighted the Moldovan side’s willingness to work efficiently to achieve tangible results.
The parties reached joint agreements on the main issues of the project, including the coordination of key project decisions, environmental issues, the concept of the border crossing procedure, etc. By the next meeting, the border and customs authorities of both countries will have worked out the relevant procedures and formalities.
As reported, USAID will provide Ukraine with 28 modular structures to equip six checkpoints on the border with Romania and Moldova.
