Ukraine receives 100 modern ultrasound machines from South Korea’s government

Ukraine has received 100 modern ultrasound diagnostic machines from the government of the Republic of Korea.

That’s according to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

“Ukrainian medical institutions have received 100 state-of-the-art ultrasound diagnostic systems to improve the quality of diagnostics and treatment for patients as part of humanitarian aid from the government of the Republic of Korea,” the statement reads.

According to the Ministry of Health, the total aid package amounts to over $12 million, with $3 million allocated specifically for the purchase of ultrasound machines. The equipment transfer was made possible through the cooperation of the Korean Embassy in Ukraine and with the support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The ultrasound machines offer high-quality imaging and advanced technological features, allowing for the diagnosis of various diseases.

The equipment has been distributed to medical institutions in 19 regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernivtsi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions, as well as the city of Kyiv.

The Ministry of Health noted that the equipment would be used across multiple medical fields, including obstetrics and gynecology for pregnancy monitoring and reproductive health diagnostics, cardiology for heart examinations, and pediatrics for neonatal research. Additionally, the ultrasound machines will help assess the condition of the liver, kidneys, blood vessels, joints, and other organs.
