Russian forces launched a guided aerial bomb strike on a care home in Sudzha, Kursk region, Russia, where dozens of local residents were preparing for evacuation at the time of the attack.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

“Today, February 1, at 16:54, Russian aviation carried out a strike with a guided aerial bomb on a care home in the town of Sudzha, Kursk region. The attack was deliberate. At the time of the strike, dozens of local residents who were preparing for evacuation were inside the building,” the General Staff stated.

The General Staff emphasized that the Russian side was fully aware that only civilians were present in the care home — local residents, including women and children.

Efforts are currently underway to rescue survivors.

“The strike on the care home in Sudzha is yet another war crime by the Russian authorities, targeting civilians. Every day, the Russian forces terrorize Ukrainian cities with missile and drone strikes, destroying residential buildings, schools, and hospitals. Now, they have begun deliberately killing their own civilians. The terrorists will inevitably be held accountable for every war crime,” the General Staff emphasized.
