Keith Kellogg, the U.S. President’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, has stated that Donald Trump’s team has a “solid plan” to end hostilities and initiate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Speaking on Fox News, Kellogg emphasized that the U.S. understands the urgency of bringing the war to an end.
“I think we have a good, solid plan to go forward, to start talking and working through there,” he said.
Kellogg also highlighted Trump’s strategic approach, stating that the former president “knows where to apply pressure, where not to apply pressure.”
“But more importantly, he will create leverage both with Ukrainians and Russians,” he said.
He added that the U.S. was analyzing what leverage could be applied to ensure the U.S. president had the opportunity to succeed, emphasizing that the situation should not drag on for years and that a short-term solution suitable for both sides was needed.
Kellogg expressed confidence that a ceasefire could be achieved within months, not years.
