Pregnant woman killed in missile strike on Izium

One of the women who died as a result of the Russian missile strike on Izium was pregnant.

This was reported on Telegram by Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, as cited by Ukrinform.

“The identities of the women killed in the strike have been confirmed. They were 18 and 19 years old, one of them was pregnant,” the post reads.

February 5 has been declared a day of mourning in Borova community, according to the Borova Village Council in Izium district. Residents of the village of Pidlyman from this community were among those killed in the strike on Izium.








“Shevchenko Petro Petrovych, born on September 25, 1981. He is survived by his parents, wife, and two daughters. Two sisters: Nechvolod (Zhalpis) Oleksandra Arturivna, born on September 28, 2006, wife of a Ukrainian defender, leaving behind a one-year-old son without a mother; Nechvolod Angelina Arturivna, born on June 28, 2005, was preparing to become a mother. They were all near the premises of the State Migration Service,” the Village Council administration stated.

Additionally, six other residents of Borova community from the villages of Pidlyman, Zahryzove, and Pidvysoke were injured in the explosion, including two minors.

“All of them sustained injuries of varying severity. Four have been hospitalized. One man is in critical condition,” the community reported.

Later, the Village Council clarified that three employees of the accounting department of the Borova Municipal Utility Service were also injured.

“Due to the escalation of hostilities near Borova, the accounting department of the Borova Municipal Utility Service was temporarily relocated to Izium. Thus, at the time of the shelling, the employees were at their workplaces. Three women from the village of Borova suffered injuries, mainly from shattered glass. Two of them received medical assistance and returned home. One woman remains in the hospital,” the community stated.

As reported earlier, around 11:40 on February 4, the Russian forces launched an Iskander ballistic missile at the central part of the town of Izium in Kharkiv region, killing five people. By16:00, 55 people had been reported injured, 24 of whom were hospitalized. Three people were in serious condition, including a minor girl. The strike partially destroyed the administrative building of the Izium Town Council, damaged another administrative building, and shattered the windows of three residential apartment buildings.

Most of the victims were employees of various institutions.
