This year, border guards have prevented two attempts by Russian subversive and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) to enter Ukrainian territory.

This was reported by Andrii Demchenko, Spokesman for the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), during a briefing in Ukrinform.

“Currently, such incidents (attempts by Russian SRGs to enter Ukrainian territory – ed.) have been recorded in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. No such attempts have been observed in Chernihiv region this year, but the threat remains there,” he said.

According to Demchenko, the current activity of enemy SRGs is not as high as it was during the early days of the full-scale invasion, as well as throughout 2023-2024, but the enemy continues to make attempts to cross the border.

“We continue to record attempts by Russian SRGs to enter Ukrainian territory in sections of the border guarded by the SBGS units, as well as in sections where other components of the Defense Forces are securing the border,” Demchenko noted.

As previously reported, last year, the SBGS units recorded 11 attempts by enemy SRGs to enter Ukrainian territory.
