On February 8, 133 combat engagements between the Defence Forces of Ukraine and Russian invaders were recorded at the frontline, with Ukrainian troops successfully repelling 54 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk sector.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 08:00 on Sunday, February 9, Ukrinform reports.
Yesterday, the invaders carried out 91 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, particularly deploying 147 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the enemy launched more than 5,800 attacks, including 127 MLRS attacks, and used 2,856 kamikaze drones.
The Russians carried out air strikes in the areas of Velyki Prokhody, Lyptsi, Markove, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Vasylivka, Hryshyne, Bahatyr, Rozlyv, Hulyaypole, Novodarivka, Novopil, Olhivske, Stepnohirsk and Mariivka.
Over the past day, the Air Force, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit six areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, three artillery units, and two radar stations of the Russian invaders.
In the Kharkiv sector, the Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, eight enemy attacks were recorded, with the defense forces successfully repelling assaults near Zahryzove and Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked seven times. They attempted to advance in the directions of Nove, Kolodiazi, Novoyehorivka and Yampolivka.
In the Siversk sector, the enemy attacked the Ukrainian positions four times in the area of Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, three combat clashes were recorded in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy launched nine attacks in the vicinity of Krymske and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders thwarted 54 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of Yelizavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Novooleksandrivka, Andriivka, Dachne, Kalynove, Vodiane Druhe, Zelene Pole, Novotoretsk, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Nadiivka, Preobrazhenka and Shevchenko.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 12 attacks, concentrating their efforts near Kostiantynopil.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Russian invaders carried out an attack in the direction of Novopil.
In the Orikhiv and Prydniprovia sectors, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.
In the operational area in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 28 enemy attacks. In addition, the enemy launched 44 air strikes, employing 64 glide bombs and launching 544 artillery shelling attacks on the Ukrainian positions and settlements, including 15 MLRS attacks.
There were no signs of enemy offensive groups forming in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As Ukrinform reported, the Russian army’s total combat losses in Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to February 9, 2025 amounted to about 849,320 invaders, including 1,460 troops killed or wounded in the previous day.
