There is currently no threat of an offensive against Mykolaiv, despite the fact that Russians occasionally intensify their actions on the islands in the Dnipro Delta.
This was stated by Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, in an interview with Ukrinform.
“We are not a priority target for the Russians. At least for now. Nevertheless, the Armed Forces are working on the left bank, we are strengthening our defense, building defenses. The Russian Federation has no opportunity for an offensive now,” Kim said.
He also noted that if Russia sends five North Korean brigades to force the Dnipro River, we will have problems. But as of now, this is not the case.
The head of the RMA also promised that if he sees troop build-ups or preparations that threaten Mykolaiv, he will report them. The same applies to the threat from the temporarily occupied Kinburn Spit.
“The Kinburn Spit is large, you can see everything there. It is difficult for them to do anything from there. Another thing is that it needs to be liberated, to save our people and nature reserves, which have already suffered billions of euros in damage,” Kim said.
As reported, according to the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, Russian troops are amassing forces in the Kinburn Spit area to hold the line and prevent Ukrainian troops from forcing the Dnipro River.
