The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has codified and approved the use of the Ukrainian-made BATON unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system in the units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
That’s according to a statement posted on the ministry’s website, Ukrinform reports.
The Main Directorate for the Support of Weaponry and Military Equipment Lifecycle noted that the BATON drones were designed based on military requirements, with a focus on maximum simplicity and ease of operation in challenging conditions. The drones are built on frames of various sizes.
“These ‘combat birds’ can operate in different weather conditions, from freezing cold to extreme heat. The UAVs have excellent dynamic properties and are capable of chasing and hitting enemy targets at high speeds,” the ministry said.
