The Mykolaiv region has taken the lead in terms of economy deshadowing, and this is evidence that enterprises are changing approaches to their activities.
The relevant statement was made by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Head Vitalii Kim in an interview with Ukrinform, commenting on the economic situation in the region.
“On the one hand, we see official statistics, and on the other hand, it is no secret that part of the economy remains in the shadows. By the way, the Mykolaiv region has taken the lead in terms of the pace of economy deshadowing. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Viktor Mykyta,” Kim told.
In his words, the above is evidence that Mykolaiv-based enterprises are changing approaches to their activities.
According to the regional military chief, the pace of economic recovery in the Mykolaiv region is rather high compared to 2022.
“But, this does not mean that we have returned to normal life, and everything is fine. Turnovers are growing, while profits are not. The main reason is non-operating ports that constitute 40% of the region’s economy, and disrupted core logistics. We are making every effort to attract funding to the region from international partners. This somewhat helps, but it is unknown how long it will last,” Kim concluded.
A reminder that, according to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, frontline regions that suffered the most from Russian armed aggression should be granted economic preferences.
