U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has brought a Partnership Agreement to Kyiv, which will include economic cooperation between the two countries.
This was announced after a one-on-one meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“I know that our team has received the first draft of the Partnership Agreement from the United States. I really want our team to review this document, and we will do everything possible to study and sign it as soon as possible. The United States is our key partner. We will carefully examine all the details of this document in time for the Munich Conference because we do not want to waste time,” Zelensky said.
The President added that the conversation with Bessent was constructive and covered issues such as security guarantees and natural resources.
During his meeting with the U.S. Treasury Secretary, Zelensky brought a map highlighting Ukraine’s natural resources, making this a priority topic in the discussions.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky confirmed that he personally proposed to Donald Trump the idea of granting the U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals in exchange for security guarantees and financial incentives.
