Soldiers of the 60th Separate Mechanized Inhulets Brigade, in coordination with neighboring units, successfully repelled a mechanized assault by Russian forces in the Lyman sector.
According to Ukrinform, the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces reported the attack on Telegram and released corresponding video footage.
“In the area of responsibility of the Inhulets Brigade, after a prolonged pause, our defenders repelled a mechanized enemy assault. The aggressor deployed armored vehicles to transport assault groups in an attempt to advance,” the statement read.
Russian forces attacked using infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) carrying troops, following a familiar pattern — armored vehicles were pushed forward toward Ukrainian positions before launching the assault. The invaders then attempted to overrun Ukrainian defensive positions and fire emplacements.
However, Ukrainian forces targeted and destroyed the Russian armored vehicles, as well as the remaining enemy troops.
“The mechanized assault was successfully repelled through the coordinated efforts of artillery, drone battalions, and infantry,” the military reported.
