Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal stated that the issue of Ukraine’s NATO membership must remain on the table.

He made this statement on the social media platform X, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity needs to be safeguarded. NATO membership must stay on the table,” Michal wrote.

He added that to achieve a just and lasting peace, pressure must be applied on Russia to bring it to negotiations, rather than on Ukraine.

“Crucial time for Europe to show unity and strength,” Michal emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, stated that the presence of European soldiers in Ukraine is being considered as one of the security guarantee elements. However, the best security guarantee would be Ukraine’s accession to NATO, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces would significantly strengthen the Alliance and contribute to Transatlantic security.
