Germany’s Helsing to help implement AI technologies in Ukrainian defense developments

The Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine and the German defense company Helsing GmbH have agreed to cooperate in implementing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into Ukrainian defense projects.

That’s according to the ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

“On February 14, Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, along with Ukraine’s Presidential Advisor on Strategic Affairs, Oleksandr Kamyshin, and CEO and co-founder of Helsing GmbH, Gundbert Scherf, confirmed the agreement to expand the cooperation in AI technology integration into Ukrainian developments,” the statement said.

Helsing already has experience in collaborating with the Ministry for Strategic Industries in the areas of security and defense, particularly in AI integration into drones. The company has now expressed its intention to deepen and expand this cooperation, particularly in scaling up production within Ukraine’s defense sector.
