Defense Ministers of Ukraine, Türkiye discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with his Türkiye’s counterpart Yaşar Güler and Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu to discuss enhancing bilateral defense cooperation and developing joint defense projects.

As reported by Ukrinform, Umerov shared this update on Facebook.

“Together with the President of Ukraine, I visited Türkiye, where held important negotiations with Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and Commander of the Land Forces General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu. The main focus of our discussions was strengthening bilateral defense cooperation. We addressed current security challenges, the further development of joint defense projects, and enhancing the capabilities of our armed forces,” Umerov stated.

Umerov emphasized that Türkiye remains a reliable strategic partner for Ukraine. Joint defense efforts contribute to Ukraine’s resilience and combat effectiveness on the battlefield.

Earlier reports indicate that Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, as part of the Ukrainian official delegation in the United Arab Emirates, took part in discussions regarding the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
