Companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are ready to invest in the production of processed products, grain transshipment, and the development of ports.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As part of the working visit to Saudi Arabia, the Ukrainian delegation, including Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Vitalii Koval, led by Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko met with more than 20 leading businesses from the UAE. Among them, there were port operators, investment, agrarian and trading enterprises showing interest in import and export cooperation with Ukraine.
“Ukraine and the UAE have opened a new page in economic partnership. Among the UAE companies, there are those that are ready to enter the Ukrainian market. In particular, they are willing to invest in the production of processed products, such as oilseeds, rapeseed, soybeans, as well as grain transshipment and the development of port infrastructure,” Koval noted.
In his words, Ukraine’s agricultural sector is actively working with the UAE. In 2024, the export of agricultural products exceeded USD 197 million. Most popular products included fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin, meat and edible by-products, cereals, vinegar, etc.
A reminder that, on February 17, 2025, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement, which provides for the import of 99% of goods and products from Ukraine without paying customs duties.
In January-November 2024, the trade turnover between Ukraine and the UAE amounted to USD 415 million. Ukraine’s exports to the UAE reached USD 266.8 million, while imports came to USD 148.2 million.
