The Ukrainian Defense Ministry will allocate more than UAH 44 billion for the purchase of FPV drones, including fiber-optic models, in 2025.

That’s according to the ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

The plans for the procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for 2025 were presented to representatives of the “Technological Forces of Ukraine” association — a union of leading manufacturers of innovative weapons for defense needs.

During the event, participants discussed the scaling of UAV production and supply for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as simplifying bureaucratic procedures to expedite the integration of new drone models into the military.

“Ensuring technological superiority over the enemy is a key task for 2025. Last year, the main financial resources were allocated for the purchase of long-range deep strike systems, while this year, more than UAH 44 billion has been planned for the procurement of FPV drones, including models with fiber optics,” said Hlib Kanievskyi, Director of the Procurement Policy Department at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

The participants also focused on reducing the time needed to deliver drones from production to combat units, as well as expanding the circle of suppliers and manufacturers of defense products.

The ministry also emphasized the importance of regular dialogue with manufacturers. Such meetings allow for the timely resolution of key issues related to army supply, the development of domestic technologies, and the optimization of logistics processes.
