On February 20, drones of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) targeted and disabled the operations of the Novovelychkovskaya oil pumping station in Russia’s Krasnodar territory.
A source in the SSU reported this to Ukrinform.
Novovelychkovskaya is one of the key stations for transporting oil in Kuban. It supplies oil to the Afipsky and Ilsky oil refineries.
The drone strike hit a 110/35/10 kV electrical substation, which powers the oil pumping station. The substation caught fire, resulting in a complete power outage and the emergency shutdown of the oil pumping process.
Currently, the Russians are assessing the financial damage.
“This is the eighth successful SSU operation this year targeting Russia’s oil refining and pumping facilities. Each such ‘bang’ causes multi-million dollar losses for Russia and complicates the supply of fuel to the Russian froces,” noted the informed source within the SSU.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, on February 17, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched precision strikes on strategic military and fuel-energy infrastructure in Russia.
Among the affected facilities were the Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar territory, as well as the Kropotkinskaya and Andreapol oil pumping stations.
