The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the President, has formed proposals for the exchange of “all for all” in the event of negotiations with Russia.
This was reported in an interview with Ukrinform by Bohdan Okhrimenko, head of the Secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
“The head of the Coordination Headquarters, Kyrylo Budanov, is in contact with the President of Ukraine. Accordingly, the work carried out by the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Coordination Center, is coordinated,” he said.
According to him, the Ukrainian side is constantly promoting the possibility of an “all-for-all” exchange.
“We have lists of our citizens who are in enemy captivity, confirmed by the ICRC or other sources. And there are many missing persons for whom we continue to work. If agreements are reached to exchange all those whom we are holding, we will give them to the Russian side. Accordingly, the Russian side will hand over all those it holds,” Okhrimenko added.
As reported, 4,131 Ukrainians have been returned from captivity since the launch of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in 2022, including 1,358 last year.
