EU adopts 16th package of sanctions against Russia

EU foreign ministers have adopted the 16th package of sanctions against Russia over its aggression against Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas wrote about this on the social network X.

“EU delivers: Foreign Ministers just approved the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. It hits everything from shadow fleet ships to gaming controllers used to control drones. We now have the most extensive sanctions ever, weakening Russia’s war effort,” Kaja Kallas wrote.

As reported, the EU Foreign Affairs Council is taking place in Brussels today, and the first issue on the agenda will be the situation in Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will take part in the discussion of this topic via teleconference.

Today, on the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the European Commission Board and heads of European institutions, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa, as well as leaders of several European countries, are visiting Kyiv.
