Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said that this year, Ukraine will receive various types of assistance totaling EUR 8 billion from the European Union, Norway, and Spain, and an additional $10.6 billion from the United Kingdom and Canada. Furthermore, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and the Baltic States will also contribute to Ukraine’s resilience.

Shmyhal said this during a government meeting, Ukrinform reports, citing the government portal.

“Yesterday, the leaders of friendly countries arrived in Kyiv. We held a large representative summit called Support Ukraine, which also saw dozens of high-ranking representatives from European and Asian countries joining online. We witnessed the unwavering support of our partners on Ukraine’s path to a just peace. We have concrete, meaningful results in securing different types of assistance,” Shmyhal said.

Shmyhal clarified that EUR 3.5 billion would be provided to Ukraine by the EU in March under the Ukraine Facility program. At the same time, GBP 4.5 billion ($5.6 billion) in military aid will be provided by the United Kingdom this year.

Additionally, Canada will provide new military equipment, a grant for energy recovery, and $5 billion through the seizure of Russian assets. Norway will provide EUR 3.5 billion for military, economic, humanitarian, and energy-related support.
