According to World Bank experts, Ukraine’s agricultural sector has suffered direct losses amounting to $11.2 billion due to the full-scale invasion.
That’s according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
“World Bank calculations indicate that direct losses in the agricultural sector total $11.2 billion. Additionally, $700 million in damages are related to irrigation and water resources,” the statement said.
The latest World Bank report on damage and recovery needs estimates that Ukraine will require $524 billion over the next decade for recovery and reconstruction — 38 billion more than previously projected.
Of this total, over $64 billion is needed to rebuild and restore trade and industry, while the agricultural sector requires over $55 billion.
Earlier calculations estimated that Ukraine’s agricultural sector had suffered more than $80 billion in direct losses and damages due to the full-scale invasion.
