Zhovkva discusses cooperation with NATO Assistant Secretary General

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Boris Ruge to discuss the importance of cooperation on Ukraine’s path to membership in the Alliance.

That’s according to the President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.

The parties positively assessed the implementation of other decisions of the Summit. Zhovkva stressed the importance of their full implementation along with increased military assistance from NATO member states for Ukraine.

In addition, the meeting addressed the continuation of the work of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, which contributes significantly to strengthening the military capabilities of our country.

Apart from that, they discussed the current architecture of European security and strengthening its role in light of the current challenges.

As Ukrinform reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at the “Ukraine. The Year 2025” forum that as long as Ukraine is not a NATO member, the financing of the 800,000-strong Ukrainian army is needed.
