According to the Agreement Establishing the Rules and Conditions of the Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, the U.S. supports Ukraine’s efforts to obtain security guarantees necessary for lasting peace.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this on a television broadcast, as reported by Ukrinform.
“The agreement is tied to security guarantees. Clause 10 states that the agreement is an integral part of the architecture of bilateral and multilateral agreements, as well as specific steps towards establishing lasting peace, strengthening economic and security resilience, and reflecting the goals outlined in the preamble of this agreement. The U.S. government supports Ukraine’s efforts to obtain security guarantees necessary for lasting peace,” Shmyhal said.
Shmyhal clarified that security guarantees for Ukraine are included in the President’s Victory Plan. Specifically, the first point is NATO membership or other strong security guarantees for Ukraine. The second and third points concern frontline support and a deterrence package, the fourth point addresses economic cooperation, and the fifth focuses on the further protection of European borders.
As Ukrinform previously reported, on Tuesday, the United States sent Ukraine the final agreed draft of the rare earth minerals agreement.
