No border breakthrough in Sumy region, fighting continues – CCD

Russian occupation forces are conducting assault operations along the border in Sumy region with infantry groups without using convoys of vehicles. So far, there has been no breakthrough.

According to Ukrinform, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported this in Telegram.

“Regarding the information that is being spread online that Russian troops are attacking the border of Sumy region, near the village of Novenke. Having verified the information with the Defense Forces, the Center informs that the Russians are currently attempting to assault the border without convoys of vehicles, with infantry groups. The Defense Forces are destroying the enemy. At the moment, there has been no breakthrough, the fighting continues,” the Center said.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian troops shelled the border areas and settlements of Sumy region 12 times at night and in the morning of February 28, damaging residential buildings and a gas pipeline.
