U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is “not ready for peace.”
Trump said this in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Ukrinform reports.
“We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure,” Trump wrote.
He stated that he “determined that President Zelensky is not ready for peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations.”
Trump emphasized that he does not want advantage and that he wants peace.
He also said that Zelensky “disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office.”
“He can come back when he is ready for peace,” Trump added.
Earlier, a heated exchange arose between Trump and Zelensky, leading the Ukrainian president to leave the White House early.
