Russian drone strikes apartment building in Zaporizhzhia

A Russian attack drone has struck an apartment building in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, sparking a fire.

Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“The enemy has hit a residential high-rise in Zaporizhzhia. The strike caused a fire,” he wrote.

Emergency responders and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

“We are swiftly setting up a resilience center. For security reasons, its location will not be disclosed publicly. Residents of the affected area will receive information from municipal staff,” Rehina Kharchenko, secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, posted on Telegram.

Initial reports indicate that there are no casualties.
