A Russian Shahed drone struck a residential building in Zaporizhzhia, prompting several residents to seek medical assistance.

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Chief Ivan Fedorov, who spoke from the scene, the primary concern for emergency crews was preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings, Ukrinform reports.

“The enemy struck the city of Zaporizhzhia with a Shahed drone, hitting a residential building. […] Firefighters have contained the fire. Several residents sought medical attention, but hospitalization was not required,” Fedorov said.

However, Zaporizhzhia City Council Secretary Rehina Kharchenko stated that a 31-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized for treatment.

City authorities also reported that two people were successfully rescued from the site. Meanwhile, municipal workers have begun boarding up windows shattered by the explosion.
